Content Creator Internship
Duties
Candidates will be responsible for researching and writing articles about the regional history of Birmingham and the West Midlands, under the following topics:
People: important local historical figures who have defined the development of the West Midlands.
Places: important and distinctive places whose heritage is linked to the development of Birmingham and the West Midlands over time.
Legacies: how the West Midlands has evolved with time.
Candidates will work with an editor and a designer collaboratively to ensure the best quality work is produced.
Skills you will gain
Research and writing: Candidates will gain valuable experience writing high quality, relatively casual content. Candidates will experience working with an editor.
Interpersonal skills and teamwork: Candidates will need to sustain effective working relationships with colleagues, and may need to work across language and cultural barriers.
Organisation and time-management: candidates will need to meet deadlines and prioritise certain aspects of their work to ensure timely completion of their assigned tasks.
Communication: Candidates will have the opportunity to develop strong oral and written communication skills.
Skills & Experience
Candidates should understand how to use public resources to access information in Birmingham.
Candidates should be able to identify places of interest in the city. Candidates will have the ability to be creative, and contribute to the design of tours for these locations.
Candidates should be passionate about Birmingham and the West Midlands.
Candidates should be curious and keen to learn.
Candidates are welcome from different specialisations.
Additional language skills are preferred.

Remuneration
The cost of transportation and entrance costs for tours or museum visits incurred during candidates work will be reimbursed
Successful candidates will be able to receive a certificate and reference letters
