Final Week - Harriet
This week at WeiPoint has been productive for me after a number of important meetings. The director of the company, Wei and I had a meeting with a filming company who we will most likely be using to film a number of vlogs. These vlogs are the next step in WeiPoint's mission to promote the heritage and culture of Birmingham. These will eventually be translated into a number of other languages so they are more accessible to international students and tourists who may be attracted to the area.
We are starting by producing an introductory video about Bournville in order to introduce people to the area. Being home to the Cadbury factory and family it is a truly historic village that seems a world away from the busy city. After this meeting I collected all the relevant information for Bournville and sent it over to the company. These will eventually become a documentary series with short clips of different places in and around Birmingham that we feel add to its heritage and deserved to be recognised for this.
Secondly on my list of things to do is create a sponsors list for the University of Birmingham Student Survival Guide. This is a list of all the organisations I think may be interested in sponsoring and supporting the book. These are a mixture of local business and organisations that have an interest in what has been mentioned in the survival guide. So this is quite a few! Furthermore, we are also discussing who we should approach to write a forward for the book to promote it in the best way possible.
