Interview with Ayemen

At Weipoint, we have been extremely fortunate to work with Ayemen, our Hindi language ambassador. She has worked with us to translate our 5o Places in Birmingham Instagram series into Hindi so that we can reach out to the wider Birmingham community and celebrate the diversity of its people. Ayemen kindly agreed to conduct a short interview with us to tell others about her experiences and share what it is like to work with Weipoint in a language capacity.

Q1. Tell us three things about yourself.

A1. I'm from Hyderabad, India, I'd say it's the land where. Biryani got tastier. I I'm an advocate for Liberty for all, and I do that through my work with two amazing organizations, Students For Liberty and Ladies of Liberty Alliance.

Q2. What are you studying? Tell us about your course.

A2. I'm studying Pharm D and currently am in my internship period. It's a fairly new course in India, and lasts 6 years long and I'm happy to graduate this fall. I have interests in specialising in pharmacoeconomics or regulatory affairs.

Q3. How do you know about Weipoint and how did you come to work with us?

A3. I met Dr. Wei at the Liberty International Conference in Mongolia. I was inspired by how humble he was and got to know a bit more about this venture. When asked to translate, I was happy to do so.

Q4. What motivated you to speak for Birmingham?

A4. I'm not from the city or the country. My knowledge of it comes mainly from reading, and so far it seems full of history and heritage. I hope to visit someday.

Q5. What were the best and the most frustrating parts of your work?

A5. I think the best part is the community and meeting people. I think I'm too early in to feel frustrated, Maybe I'll have an answer in the future.

Q6. What did you get out of working with us?

A6. Definitely a lot of learning. I found out about a city and everything comes alive after.

Q7. What do you hope to work on in the future?

A7. I think weipoint is making a strong effort to connect people from all cultures, I'm a small part of that effort and I'd like to continue to do so.

Q8. What is your first thing to do after lockdown?

A8. easy, travel!

Q9. Is there any way that Weipoint can improve the experience for their language ambassadors?

A9. I've had a great experience so far.

Q10. How can WeiPoint make a bigger impact?

A10. Sharing stories from the community will definitely be a step in the right direction.

Thanks, Ayemen!
