Welcome
Our Team
Dr. Wei Wu
CEO
Wei Wu is an ambitious entrepreneur and researcher who started his company, WeiPoint, in 2017 after completing a PhD in Business Management at the University of Birmingham. Wei’s experiences at the University fueled his love for Birmingham and his belief in its potential grew rapidly. He saw Birmingham as an innovative and vibrant city for digital start-ups and, therefore, made the decision to make the city his home, develop his own digital technology startup, and immerse himself in the community.
The idea behind WeiPoint is to challenge the traditional, industrial stereotypes of this great city and instead promote its dynamic culture, compelling history and ever-evolving community. I hope that those who come to Birmingham to study, work and live can utilise our accessible platform to better understand and explore their new home.
Whilst still powered by WeiPoint, we rebranded to The Atlas of Birmingham in 2021 to better reflect our vision. WeiPoint plans to expand to new cities in the near future!

Quan Chen
Graphic Designer
From accounting to design, from SMEs to MNCs, from Suzhou to London, from pipa to piano, from student to professional... this meandering journey has shaped my multicultural experience and multi-disciplinary skillset. Through this, I have become increasingly versatile and curious; to learn more about ‘the romantic disease’, the palaces of St Petersburg, how to decolonise museums and so on and so on (hi Žižek). These seemingly random topics somehow connect, and at unpredictable times inspire my work. I aspire to be an ‘informist’, and not a conformist.
