Leisure Activites
This past week has seen me continue with drafting content for the university survival guide. The first section I focused on were the parks in the area as they are integral to any students life, before Coronavirus the parks were home to many a student on a sunny afternoon.
Furthermore, there are a number of parks in the area that provide not only a sunny background but also activities to do with your friends or perhaps an icebreaker with new housemates for first year students. Cannon Hill park is one of the most eclectic for this with an arts centre, pedellos and even a crazy golf course.
I then shifted my focus onto the University of Birmingham campus which has a number of interesting features, even a statue of a woman wearing nothing but a hat! It’s those sort of things that going about your day to day life that we overlook on campus. We often walk right past the things that hold onto the history of our university, or we notice them but have no clue as to what the background is. This section of the survival guide will seek to inform students about the campus that they visit nearly every day of the week.
Lastly I began drafting information on the legacy of the Cadbury family which could take all day. Not only do they have a world famous chocolate brand but more locally in Birmingham they were heavily involved in charity and left a whole village built by them for the workers of their factory.
