Short intro: Home to the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra

Description: Symphony Hall has been considered to have some of the finest acoustics in the world. The Symphony Hall hosts over 250 events annually, receiving over 400,000 visitors every year. The modern Symphony Hall is an extension of Birmingham’s long, proud, musical history: Birmingham held a classical music festival featuring global talent on an irregular basis from 1768, a tradition that is continued today. The Symphony Hall’s impressive acoustics are achieved through its curved interior, as well as a ‘reverberation chamber’: a large space under the hall that provides the depth of sound as the music from the performing orchestra passes through it. Visit the Symphony Hall to experience Birmingham’s proud musical heritage!
