Title: Brindley Place

Built in: 1993

Location: Birmingham B1 2LP

Short intro: Birmingham’s modern canalside development

Description: Brindley Place is named for the street around which it is built; this in turn named for the eighteenth-century canal engineer James Brindley. During Birmingham’s industrial past Brindley Place was a manufacturing site but has been revitalised into a leisure area that links to Birmingham's canals waterways.  Brindley Place is now home to many bars, restaurants, and shops. One can visit Birmingham’s National Sea Life centre, the Crescent Theatre, or view modern art exhibitions at Ikon Gallery.
